NEW FUNDRAISER INITIAVE: Brian's Journey to NeuroSolutions in Austin, TX
Big news! Brian has been accepted into Dr. Brandon Crawford's clinic, NeuroSolutions, in Austin, Texas. He wants Brian for a minimum of two weeks to begin treatment, so we will be making the trip down this spring (late March). We have appreciated all of the continued financial support that has helped us to make Brian's recovery as comfortable and as efficient as possible. I've used funds to purchase and renovate a beautiful, ADA / accessible home, obtain state of the art equipment to make his care easier and functional, bio-hacking devices to aid in his day-to-day healing, insurance on the handicap van, and to 'keep the lights on' since I am still unable to work or be reliable enough to obtain a job. Arguably the greatest gift of all is the opportunity to stay by Brian's side and continue to search for solutions to help him heal and emerge so we can have him back fully. Thank you *all* for making it possible. I don't think I will ever had adequate words of g
Your words directing our prayers are taken to heart. Will do!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all that information.
ReplyDeleteI continue to pray for Trooper Brian's brain to heal and rewire itself, for him to wake up when God has healed him. Prayers for you also as you walk this journey with Brian.
God is definately in control and Trooper Brian is showing us his strength.
God Bless!
I believe he will wake up! I also pray it is peaceful, and he feels no fear or pain. Lauren, I pray for your strength. I pray for your peace. Thank you for these updates.
ReplyDeleteYou are very wise Lauren as you ask for specific prayer and share with us so we can agree with you in each and every specific prayer. We won’t stop praying alongside you lifting our favorite IL trooper to the God who heals!! Your description of progression of consciousness is what we experienced with Brandon. After 11 days, eyes were open but he had no awareness of us for weeks. Months before he could swallow. I still remember his first laugh after no sound at all. He was in rehab for 2 years. He progressed slowly, but continually for many years after that. No Dr could tell us what to expect but we had many believers praying. Brian has exponentially more praying around the world!! Our God hears!! No two cases are the same or can be compared. But, we do wish to give you hope and patience. Every progression is a celebration and we celebrate each step of progress that’s posted ❤️
ReplyDeleteWe love you and Brian and believe with you my dear🙏❤️
While I do not know you I have been keeping Brian (and his family, friends and care providers) in my prayers daily. I work as an OT and have had many families find the Rancho Los Amigos Scale (AKA Levels of Cognitive Functioning Scale) to be a helpful guide in being able to recognize even the small changes as progress. One link is here....there are many others. http://file.lacounty.gov/SDSInter/dhs/218115_RLOCFOriginalFamilyGuide-English.pdf
ReplyDeleteGod has the wheel, healing will happen in Gods timeline. Gods not done with Brian, we all know this. Stay positive and keep talking to him as if he was right there with you at 100%! Keep his brain busy with words of encouragement, he hears you!
ReplyDeleteLauren,
ReplyDeleteYour words are inspiring as well as informative,. We don't know you, but you, Brian and the whole family have been in our prayers since the moment my husband came upon the aftermath of the accident on I-55. Ours prayers continue for a full recovery, but also for a very visible miracle for all to see. We pray with conviction that our Lord and Savior make Brian an example of the power of miracles for complete healing, Our world so needs to see these vivid truths from the heavenly powers, and I believe Brian is just the one for Christ to shine through. We know "all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us". Lauren, clearly you are special in a way no one wants to be, but know that we pray for your peace of mind and heart, "the peace that surpasses all understanding"
I pray for increase in GCS in near future. It sounds like Brian has the best caregivers around. He is surrounded by love, strength, and hope. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with you Lauren and Brian
