Prayers for Lauren

She is remarkable, faithful, and resilient to so much all the time.
But she is going on Day 20 without looking into Brian’s eyes; without feeling him kiss or hug her back; without talking, singing, or giggling with the love of her life...
So today, as Brian is stable and continues holding his own, let’s flood Lauren with love. Let’s remind her that it’s ok to not be or feel a certain way 100% of the time. That if there is anger, sadness, confusion, frustration- that it does not mean she has lost her faith. It means she is the human that she is always right there to let all of us be.

THE way I knew for sure that Brian was the one for Lauren...
Not by how happy she was (although it radiates from her)
Not by the way she described his character (although it was glowing)
But by the look in her eyes, the tone of her voice, and the complete honesty in her words when she told me “he sees me like no one has ever seen me before.” It was like watching every part of her that has ever been hurt or broken fuse together into the most beautiful Lauren I’ve ever seen.

None of us are Brian, but let’s all put in 500% today to try to all make her feel seen exactly where she is and exactly how she feels. That we love her and see her, without advice or agenda. Let’s do it in a BIG Brian way.

  9. Lauren, you don’t know me, but through a friend of a friend, my small group began to praying for Brian the day he was injured. There are 15 of us and we are called the Grace Group. Daily we all lift you and Brian before God asking for healing, wisdom and strength. Let those of us who love Jesus carry you and know you are not alone ... God never leaves us alone. Sending love from Northern Indiana.

  10. My sweet friend Lauren, I'm thinking of you every day, amazed by the woman you are. I have admired you since the first day we met, and I can't imagine having to find the strength that you've had to, but I also know how incredibly capable of anything you are. While we are all praying for Brian, we are praying for you too, fighting such an incredible battle every day. Feel what you need to feel. We support you, we love you, and we're here for you. xoxoxo

  12. I have been following Brian's progress since a post was shared on an alumni page for WIU. You have both been in my thoughts and prayers daily. I hope knowing that so many people are in your corner praying for you both helps make the days a bit easier to get through.
